How do I import a trip or itinerary from an external source?

There are several ways to speed up the creation of itineraries, depending on your volume of trips.

Low volume:

1. Import an Excel file
This option allows you to add multiple itinerary items at once, including flights, hotels, and other trip details, reducing manual entry time.

Steps:

  • Go to the Trips tab and click Create a New Trip or select an existing trip.
  • Click the “+” button at the bottom right-hand corner.
  • In the Import section, download the Excel template.
  • Fill in all required fields, including flights, hotels, and other trip details. Ensure dates and airport IATA codes are correctly formatted.
  • Return to the Import section and click Import to upload your completed file.
  • Once uploaded, all itinerary items from the file will be added to the trip automatically.

2. Use the Booking confirmation import
This option allows you to add individual bookings, such as flights, hotels, trains, or car rentals, by uploading confirmation documents or pasting booking details.

To activate:

  • Go to Account Settings.
  • Select the relevant account.
  • Open the Features tab and go to General Features.
  • Switch on “Admins and agents can manually import third-party vendor booking confirmations into trips.”

Steps:

  • With the feature activated, create a new trip or select an existing trip.
  • Click the “+” button and choose “Booking confirmation.
  • Upload a booking confirmation PDF or copy/paste the booking details.
  • Verify that all segments, including flights, hotels, trains, and car rentals, are correctly added to the itinerary.
  • Repeat this process for each booking you want to import into the trip.

Medium to high volume:
